Independent art valuation in Singapore

Generally, yes. We have found that insurers usually accept our independent valuation as part of a claim, for example where a work has been damaged in transit or by a contractor. It helps to tell us the purpose of your valuation upfront so we can guide you.

For an online submission, usually one to two working days from payment. An in-person valuation depends on the size of the collection and how many locations are involved, and we will give you a timeline with the quote.

Yes. Appraising artwork takes time and expertise, and can involve hours of research along with paid access to valuation databases. Online submissions are a flat S$80 per work. In-person valuations are quoted per project.

No, and they are often confused. A valuation is our opinion of value based on the work, the artist, and comparable sales. Authentication is a separate process that establishes whether a work is genuinely by the artist, and we do not provide it as part of a valuation.

Clear photographs of the front and back, any signature or inscription, and any damage. Then whatever you know: artist, title, year, medium, size, and where it came from. Provenance moves the number more than anything else, so send it if you have it.

Paintings, sculpture, works on paper, prints, calligraphy, and mixed media, across periods and markets. If a work falls outside what we can appraise properly we will say so plainly rather than guess at it.
